Shanghai Library should be designed based on the consideration of the openness to the public. The open space is supposed to enhance spatial flexibility, promote people to communicate, enrich city life, and lead people to the future. From Ground Park, visitors could be directed to the purity of the sky through a tunnel symbolising caves. The central area of the library is an open space introducing the sky view connected with the ground. Readers could read in the cloud or walk along the ramp through various spaces to share their ideas and exchange their thoughts.
